Cancelled

Hey guys, Sorry about the cancellation of today's match. I received a call from the opponents at 1.10pm to say that SSC called him earlier to say the pitch was unplayable. He then went down personally to the pitch and the caretaker there confirmed it. I tried my best to try and proceed with the match but our opponents weren't willing to take the risk (apparently carrying on to play may attract a fine of $1000 for the person that booked the pitch.)

Here is an extract from our opponent blog http://bismarxbelgrade.multiply.com/journal of today cancellation:

Lately, our team have been experiencing a couple of cancellation for our friendly matches.. Its difficult to make few of our players understand that its totally beyond our control.. We can't negotiate with the field supervisor or the caretaker as they will impose a fine to us if we never heed their instruction.. It will depend on the weather on that day and the condition of the field.. They are doing this because they are maintaining the standards of SSC fields in secondary schools.. This is the only cheapest means of arranging a friendly match by booking a proper field from a government agency like SSC.. There are other options: middle-man to arrange matches for us but the fields is much worse, eg: Bradell-Westlake Secondary and slightly higher fees.. Artificial field like SAFRA Tampines and Singapore Sports School is another option but every players need to fork out at least $10 for the match.. I really don't have any alternative way to get fields for matches.. The only thing I can think of is that if only we have contacts of any Junior Colleges, Polytechnics or private organisation which have fields to make it our 'Home' ground which I think the most impossible thing to achieve.. So, at the meantime, we just have to cross our finger on matchdays and hope that our matches will not be cancel..

We are still on the lookout for a match on 20th Jan. For those that came for the futsal at Bedok Cage, I think we all quite enjoyed it. I think its a good place to play (free and quite big) and for us to practice. Maybe we can play there sometime mid-week, this Wed or Thurs afternoon.

We have however confirmed matches for the next 2 Sundays, details are below:
