Manager lashes out at "senior" players

Team Manager Kelvin Chua was visibly furious at the club's training ground this morning. When approached by the reporters, the usually mild-mannered gaffer had this to say.

"Of course I am not pleased with the actions of my players. You look at the players that were involved and it is even more disappointing. These were senior members of the team, the Old Guard so-called. They are the core of the team to-which the newer players look to for guidance. How are they supposed to lead and command the respect of the team on the pitch with such ridiculous behavior off the pitch?"

"I am especially displeased with our dear Ken Goh. With the season just a couple of weeks away, I was about to announce the captaincy of the team. He was certainly a prime candidate for the job, given his extreme commitment to the team and also his impressive displays in pre-season. Now I would have to reconsider."

It seems Team Prodigy's players have pushed it too far this time around and seriously angered their manager. However, there are unconfirmed reports that the manager himself was seen at the New Year Eve drinking party. Rumours are abound that the outburst by the manager above is nothing but an orchestrated attempt to cover-up the drinking culture that has permeated the club from top-to-bottom. This is somewhat surprising given that the club has all along been better known to have an affinity for books and computer games, rather than booze.
