Word is that ESPZEN is in the process of securing contracts with SSC for the use of the football pitch to be built onto the Marina Bay Floating Platform. Construction began in February and a full-sized football pitch made of artificial turf has already been installed on the platform. Work will be completed this month. The Marina Bay Floating Platform (picture) will be ready to hold football matches after the inaugural SingTel Singapore Grand Prix on Sept 28. The Singapore Sports Council (SSC) will manage the floating platform and their director (infrastructure services division, sports facilities group), Dennis Lim, said on Tuesday: “The Floating Platform is built for both sporting and non-sporting activities to drive vibrancy to downtown Marina Bay. Teams like Team Prodigy will certainly be looking forward to playing matches there, with the Singapore skyline and the waters of Marina Bay providing a unique backdrop.
