Here we go again!After the euphoria of promoting in their debut season, Manager Chua has moved swiftly to strengthen his team for the upcomming season with a host of new signings so as to challange for promotion once again. With his excellent scouting network across the globe, he has done very well to recruit 5 top notch players who will give the current team a run for their money. In the striking department which needed more reinforcements following the injury to Kelvin Kuek, more firepower are added with the additions of James and Brandon.
In midfield, following the retirement of Weizhong and Jonathan Ang, Nigel and Derek are also signed to add to the squad depth although midfield is arguablly the team's strongest department with an array of talents at Chua's disposal.
Surprisily, there are not much changes to the defence, with Keemin comming in place of the still injured Songkoy. Perharps, Chua still have faith in the likes of Weiyi, Kiathui and Sukiang who are still plying their trades in the academy. One conspiracy theory was that Chua was just trying to protect his rightback position and hence, the minimum alteration. =)
With the season opener just a few days away, Chua will be anxious for a good result so as to start the new season with a bang. Prodigy lost their season opener 0-2 last season and Chua will hope that his players learnt from that lesson and to treat every opponent seriously. As in World Cup or other major championships around the world, the first match will always be the toughest as both teams will have something to prove.
Tickets have already been sold out and the Clementi stadium will explode come 1pm this Sunday. So stay tuned for more actions and updates! Nil Sine Soccere.
