Following Sun's demoralising defeat to Primero, Prodigy Manager Chua concedes that the title is out of their hands and they are in danger of losing their 2nd place to British Council and KNV6 who is fast catching up. However, the indefatable Chua remains positive that his team will not let him down.
In an in depth interview with the New Paper soccer correspondent, Tohari Prata, a visibly upbeat Chua said: " I am dissappointed with the loss, we gave our all, but our all was not enough. We didn't work their keeper. Their defence stood firm and credits to their defenders, they did what they needed to. "
When asked if the referee had contributed to the downfall of his team, Chua replied; " I thought the referee had a really poor game, he was totally inconsistent and biased against us, Ken was blatantly pushed in the box and the referee blew for the penalty, however, for no apparent reason, he recanted the decision. I am going to write a report to the FA. The level of refereeing was shocking to say the least. I do not care if i am going to get into trouble for saying the referee, but I felt there was really injustice. "
Asked about Prodigy chances of promoting with 3 games left. Chua remains defiant:" We can still get 2nd if we win all our remaining games. We now face 3 cup finals and if we play to the standard during the early season, we can win them."
Chua defended his players when Tohari Prata asked whether the poor turnout was due to a lack of enthusiam and commitment. He said: " Players do have their own commitments elsewhere and every week, whoever turns up will have to give his best and performs. That is why we need a big squad for and so, we lose and win as a team. So no point using the poor turnout as an excuse."
"However, I do hope the turnout will improve for the final 3 games as we really need everyone be it the WAGs or kitman to give moral support. We need every ounch of sweat and blood starting this Sun. "
With the stakes ever so high, Team Prodigy now faces a point of no return and if they want to improve on their last season's standing, they need to start working for each other and veteren player Ken best sums up what is expected of them: " We need to kill or be killed now"
