Team Prodigy manager Chua can be forgiven for thinking he is in the World Cup final as the whole training ground at Geylang Bahru was swamped by delirious fans who wanted to take pictures with their heros today. After last Sunday's exciting 4-3 victory over KNV6, Prodigy now has fate in their own hands in the race for third spot. A victory against Black Scorpions will guarantee 3rd place and a chance at promotion while a draw will leave them hoping for other results to go their way. A defeat will surely end their hopes. 6 weeks ago after the depressing defeat by One-touchables in the rain at Canberra Sec, 3rd place looked like a remote possibility but since then, Prodigy has won their next 3 consecutive games with Mick particulary in red hot form, banging in 5 goals in 3 games.
Manager Chua has nothing but praise for his team: " Well, this team really has character and they certainly respond to challanges. I feel happy and excited as I can see that the team spirit is really forming and regardless of which division we will be in next season, we will do even better and keep improving."
Asked about Team Prodigy chances of getting the 3 pts they need to secure 3rd spot. Chua told Football Asia: " I think if we can play like how we do against KNV6, we stand a very good chance. But I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the boys let their feets do the talking. Hopefully after the match, we can have a really good celebration if we do get 3rd considering this is our debut season in ESPZEN."
Meanwhile Team Prodigy is set to see the return of Henry and Shawn which will give healthy selection dilemmas for Chua as most of the team members have done well for these last 3 games. Fans are also painting the town red and black as Sunday will be a historical moment for this team who was once called the Pong Pong boys when they have no proper soccer balls to kick around but used Pong Pong fruits instead 10 years ago.
