Team Prodigy heralded in the new season by extending its unbeaten run into eight matches with a 2-1 win against British Council Hornets FC. The win also prompted the board of Directors to heap praises on manager Chua: "I would like to think that Chua's role as manager of Team Prodigy is virtually set in stone. We can't ask for a more able manager to lead the team into the new season."
Critics however, still attempt to drown out the high spirits of players and fans. Among them, the Newpaper raised a worrying concern: "Team Prodigy will find the going tough in this new Division. Important players like Kelvin Kwek, Henry and Ali will be missing for long periods of time, and Weizhong and Jon, whom have hung up their boots in retirement, will be sorely missed." Hitting back in usual fashion, Chua insisted, "Bollocks. These players are excellent players and they will be missed. But the character and determination of the current team will pull through, you will see."
With stricker Mick Tan in red hot form, and his strike partner James anticipating a return from injury, Team Prodigy should feel a sense of assurance going into the next game. In any case, the highly anticipated clash against Primero FC who has also won their first game will determine if Team Prodigy will suffer a psychological blow in their aspirations or hit back at their critics in style.
